What you’ll do
We’re looking for a Senior Account Executive to manage our key and most strategic SAS customers in the Insurance sector in Germany. You will join a team of talented sales experts responsible for delivering business value and helping Insurance companies achieve their goals through the creative use of SAS products, technologies and services. SAS has a long-standing relationship with many large Insurance companies, and our breadth of solutions mean that we are perfectly placed to support them in this next chapter of their evolution.
Working as part of the DACH Insurance team will present you with the opportunity to drive change, deliver strategic value and broaden your knowledge in the following domains:

You will
- Develop new business for SAS by working with the customer and analyzing both industry and market trends.
- Direct complex sales opportunities including implementation plans, which include the coordination of internal and/or external services.
- Engage appropriate external partners to create new revenue opportunity and elevate SAS’s strategic position in the account.
- Utilise SAS methodology and the multi-year strategic account plan that articulates the customer’s strategic business goals and objects.
- Look for our existing revenue streams and built-up new opportunities in new parts of the banking departments
- Manage relationships at multiple levels within the account. Work alongside management on the scheduled cadence of collaborative meetings with key account.
- Maintain accurate revenue forecasts. Apply SAS contractual and pricing policies to a client situation with full appreciation of implications commercial risk.
- Work closely with SAS management team on strategic account development goals, customer relationships, industry programs, etc.
What are we looking for?
You will be highly experienced in software sales and have an outstanding track record of consistently meeting/exceeding revenue and corporate objectives.
- Demonstrated understanding of strategic sales techniques and principles specifically in the software industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Insurance sector.
- Experience selling complex IT solutions to the Insurance sector.

- Ability to understand and communicate technical and business concepts and relate them to SAS applications and user needs.

The Sales Specialist partners with field Account Executives to sell complex Risk technical products, solutions and services to prospective and current customers. Provides in-depth industry or product expertise to facilitate closing deals within the assigned territory. A sales specialist is not account-assigned; called into accounts as opportunities are identified and may work with account-assigned sales account managers to close sale. May manage and coordinate the sales and technical team in support of the sale of the company’s products. May also be called on as a technical product expert to develop and present sales proposals and systems solutions, and close complex technical sales.
You will
- Collaborates with field Account Executives to sell specified software, solutions and/or services to current and prospective customers.
- Initiates and supports lead generation activities. Integrates strategy into overall account plan. Qualifies leads by analyzing business drivers and technical fit.
- Uses expert domain knowledge to fulfill a wide range of requests for information from prospective customers.
- Qualifies opportunities according to established process.
- Develops opportunities by managing and influencing requirements to gain competitive edge. Creates and presents sales proposals and systems solutions to successfully communicate the value of the company’s products and services. Leverages other support resources as appropriate.
- Prepares standard quotes and proposal information as needed. Communicates with other departments to create and finalize contracts and set time schedules for services.
- Facilitates closure of complex sales. Assists with pricing negotiations and licensing questions. Engage with enterprise negotiations and licensing operations on price negotiations and licensing questions.
- Develops a basic understanding of company pricing, licensing procedures and approvals matrix.
- Assists Product Management and/or Research and Development by providing information for future product direction.

What you’ll do
We’re looking for a Senior Technical Architect to provide consulting and implementation services including requirements analysis, solution development, knowledge transfer and project closeout both off and on customer site. You will participate and/or lead the design and implementation of cloud solution architectures and processes on cloud platforms and container technologies like Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, OpenShift, Docker and Kubernetes. You will focus on the underlying SAS technology core and may specialize in specific technical issues such as cloud engineering and systems integration, data engineering or data analytics and visualization. You will assist the sales team with technical advisory for sales activities to maximize revenue opportunities and ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
You will:
- Analyse all information gathered during the sales cycle to provide technical requirements and to translate sales technical vision into a detailed technical implementation proposal.
- Conduct customer sessions for requirements gathering, data discovery, analysis, reporting and presentation; Support the definition of scope and work packages, support resource planning and estimate cost on technical aspects of the project.
- Deliver standard and/or customized software demonstrations and presentations outlining the technical features, competitive advantages and business benefits of the SAS software as they apply to client needs.
- Build a trusted relationship with the Account Executive and client account to provide practical guidance in the functional and technical aspects of proposed software and set proper expectations to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provide reliable delivery of targeted project results through role as expert in the application of specific SAS methodologies, projects and (cloud) technologies.
- Provide profound knowledge of SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS technologies & implementations to the project teams.
- Leverage detailed technical knowledge to support sales opportunities and implementations across solution domains.
- May perform advanced or complex prototyping for SAS foundation and cloud technologies.
- May conduct pre-sales implementations to prove functional capabilities, including on-site support as required. Provides support for user group events and trade shows.
- May assist in the response to RFI/RFPs utilizing the RFP Repository and crafting thorough and compelling answers.
- Strategize with sales team to provide functional and technical leadership for sales opportunities.
- Look for opportunities to expand a tactical sale into something strategic for SAS and the client, utilizing SAS Technical Support to facilitate responses to issues that may impact a sales opportunity.
- Participate in product and solution training to acquire and maintain a detailed level of product knowledge of core components of SAS offerings.
- Understand, utilize and communicate best practice methodologies and industry standards internally and externally.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to other technical SAS resources.
What we’re looking for
- Excellent knowledge of IT architecture, industry standards and methodologies, peripheral technologies and implementation best practices.
- Work ability on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Ability to conceptualize clients’ needs and translate into specific technical concepts for SAS applications and implementation strategies.
- Good knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), database technologies and data management concepts.
- Good knowledge of cloud solutions & technologies (Azure / AWS / Google, Kubernetes, Docker, REST-API).
- Good understanding of sales strategies and cycles.
- Typically, a minimum of eight years’ experience of working in IT consulting projects with analytics solutions (SAS or others)

- Bachelor’s degree in either Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline
- Very good problem solving, organizational, decision-making written, oral and interpersonal skills
