Cologne, March 21, 2022 – A total of 10 companies and projects made it onto the shortlist of the insureNXT Innovators Awards for the premiere. A jury of experts is now evaluating the submissions. On March 24, all shortlisted participants will present themselves to the audience in short pitches during the digital insureNXT impulse. The expert audience will then directly select a prize winner. The audience award and the three jury award winners will then be announced together on the evening of May 18 at insureNXT 2022 in Cologne.

More than 40 companies have submitted projects for the first insureNXT Innovators Award in a total of five categories (Insurance, Tech + Start-up, Cross Industry, Science and Collaboration). The jury, consisting of selected representatives of the insureNXT advisors, has now selected a shortlist with a total of ten projects. Three winners will be selected by the expert jury. Another award, the Audience Award, will be presented by the expert audience at the insureNXT impulse. The remote event will take place on Thursday, 24 March from 4 pm. All shortlisted companies will present their projects to the insureNXT impulse participants in short pitches starting at 4 pm. This will be followed by public voting and the selection of the prize winner.

Four criteria were decisive for the jury’s evaluation: Innovation, market potential, ecological/social/socio-political relevance and customer centricity. “We are overwhelmed by the number and quality of the submissions. This shows us that the Innovators Award of insureNXT has already met with a very great response in the industry for its premiere. And the projects submitted are strong proof of the innovative power of the insurance industry,” says Sebastian Pitzler, Managing Director of co-organiser InsurLab Germany. At this year’s insureNXT, all award winners will present their projects in public in Cologne.

The shortlist shows that sustainability, digitalisation and health are important topics for the industry. Neodigital, for example, has streamlined, digitalised and automated the previously manual and time-consuming processes in claims processing. This saves time, paper and fast processing increases customer satisfaction. Parametrix insures the failure of the digital supply chain with its Cloud Downtime Insurance. Customers can determine the damage caused by an hour of downtime themselves. If damage occurs, payment is made immediately. Doing something good for yourself and others? In the Tech and Start-up category, SCOR is represented together with Fjuul and Kärntner Landesversicherung. Their innovative project: a life insurance policy in which members collect points for healthy exercise. These points are converted into sponsorships for social projects – primarily for children and young people.
