The insureNXT 2022 was a big success

With around 2000 visitors from more than 20 countries, 165 speakers and 150 exhibitors and partners, insureNXT showcased the innovations of the insurance industry.

What do insurance policies for mobility solutions look like? What about offers for the smart home or IoT? In order to develop new offers, not only classic insurers and start-ups have to cooperate, but also companies from different sectors. This is the only way to translate the advantages of digitalisation into concrete product and service innovations.

Congress FORMATs

Seven different formats and four main stages on which the main themes were taken up.

Center Stage

The Center Stage was the central venue for important keynotes, exciting presentations and inspiring panel discussions on the core topics of insureNXT.

Leading minds from the (inter)national insurance industry, related industries and start-ups presented their visions and innovations around new products, services and business models in the insurance industry.

Here, pioneers and thought leaders of the industry discussed where the future development is leading globally and nationally.

Trend Zone

In short sprints, selected experts presented new technologies and skills based on the opportunities and challenges of digitalisation for the insurance industry.

The new generation of insurance products, innovative services, new business models and international trends were presented in short keynote speeches to provide new impulses and fresh know-how in the context of industry innovations and digitalisation.

Demo Arena

The Demo Arena was the pitch stage of insureNXT. Here, companies and start-ups presented their solutions with project and product pitches and received direct audience feedback.



The Expo was the communication platform of insureNXT. Here, new products and innovations were shown in technology parks using practical examples such as show and use cases.


Core topics of insureNXT were explored in depth in practice-oriented WorkLabs. Group workshops, roundtables and interactive sessions were used to discuss relevant issues in the insurance industry, with the aim of jointly developing strategies, finding solutions and exchanging know-how.

Product Stage

The Product Stage was a purely digital stage that was broadcast on a screen in the Expo area in addition to the digital event platform. The content of the Product Stage was product presentations, which were streamed in the form of a pre-produced video on the event platform.

Content – Knowledge is power

Pure inspiration: on live stages, top speakers took a look at the latest trends and innovative business potential – live on site in Cologne and for everyone to follow via stream from anywhere in the world. A variety of interaction options such as chats, Q&As and voting ensured an active exchange between the community and the speakers.

The insureNXT launched a new award: the insureNXT Innovators Award.

Premiere: insureNXT Innovators Awards 2022 go to the trio consisting of KLV, SCOR and Fjuul, IBM and Nect, and Parametrix


Cologne, 19 May 2022 – The winners of the first insureNXT Innovators Awards have been announced. The jury of experts selected three projects from over 40 submissions: a collaboration between Kärtner Landesversicherung (KLV), SCOR and Fjuul, a cross-sector cooperation between IBM and Nect, and the platform start-up The audience at the digital insureNXT impulse had already chosen Parametrix Insurance as the audience winner. All winners received their awards on the Centre Stage of insureNXT 2022 in Cologne.

In addition to Frank Thelen and Beate Heinisch, a total of 150 top speakers presented innovations and their ideas about the future of the insurance industry on the digital event platform of insureNXT 2021. 1,200 unique users from 30 countries as well as more than 80 partners and sponsors were present at the premiere on a total of five virtual stages. Among other things, successful cross-industry and start-up cooperations with smart digital services were presented.
